Trevi Fountain, also known as the Fontana di Trevi is the most beautiful and the largest Baroque fountain located in the Trevi district within Rome, Italy. The Trevi Fountain measures 26.3 meters high and 49.15 meters wide. The fountain depicts the figure of Sea God Oceanus in a shell-shaped chariot being led by the Tritons with seahorses. Also, the water spilled by the fountain every day is 80.000 cubic feet. The fountain is also well known for its beauty and myth of throwing coins into them. How can this beauty not be spotted in the movies, impossible right? And yes, the Trevi fountain has appeared in many famous movies such as La Dolce Vita, Sabrina Goes to Rome, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Three Coins in a Fountain, and Angels and Demons.
The origins of the Trevi Fountain dates back to 19 B.C the period it was formed. Trevi Fountain was designed by an Italian architect named Nicola Salvi and got its final touch of completion by Pietro Bracci. Interestingly, the name of Trevi is derived from Tre Vie (three ways), since the fountain was the meeting point of three streets.

The famous hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses are the best option and they stop near the fountain. There is also an alternate route to reach Trevi Fountain which is via The Via Del Tritone located at about 100 steps from Barberini. Bus 175 or 85 takes you up to Tritone.
The Metro christened Spagna or Rome Metro will take you to the Spanish steps. The trains are accessible through the underground station at ‘line A’ of the Rome Metro.
The best way to experience the historical city is by walk. You can also take guided walking tours and visit the Trevi Fountain.
