Located on the west coast of Bali, Legian is a suburban beach area. Located to the north of Kuta, here's less crowded option offering the same easy access to shops and bars. The northern area of Legian offers great surf minus the beach crowds. You can cover Legian on foot if you aren't in a hurry. If you are, rent a motorbike of hire a taxi.

Legian does not have an international airport on its own and the closest airport to Legian is Ngurah International Airport at Kuta. From there, you can easily drive to Legian. Public transportation in Legian is very limited. Bemos are the only mode of transportation available in Legian to get around. They don't have a fixed schedule and operate randomly. Bemos are often congested and are comparatively cheaper when compared to the other modes of transport. But beware, bemo drivers might try to extract extra money from you in case you are a foreigner.
The international airport of Ngurah Rai serves the city of Legian. Located at a distance of 9 Kms south of Legian, getting on a taxi is the best way to reach the city centre. The ride takes around 20 Mins approximately and the pre-paid taxi fare costs Rp 95,000. Make sure to hand over the money exactly as per the metre, getting a change back from the taxi drivers is difficult.
Legian does not provide any transport passes to get around the destination, As Legian is located near to city centre and beaches, taxis are easy option.
Legian is very compact in nature and most of the places can be covered on foot. But if you are in a hurry to explore Legian then you might want to rent a motorbike or a car. The motorbikes cost around Rp 50,000 to Rp 80,000 for a day. While the cars cost around Rp 500,000 every 10 hr a day, including the parking fees and the petrol.
