Overview

The construction of artificial canals in Dubai has been an ongoing project since the early 21st century. The canals are part of a larger plan to increase the emirate's freshwater supplies and reduce its dependence on groundwater. The Arabian Canal is a proposed canal that would stretch from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea. The ambitious project of the Arabian Canal is an innovative concept to revolutionise the infrastructure of Dubai. The canal would be the country's second artificial waterway and would have a major impact on the environment and the economy of the UAE. The canal has been in the planning stages for several years, but construction has yet to begin. There are a number of reasons for its construction, including environmental concerns and the cost of the project. The Arabian Canal is expected to have a major impact on the development of Dubai, providing opportunities for waterway trading and its own unique ecosystem.
