The Green Planet Dubai is a unique bio-dome located in City Walk, offering the Middle East’s only indoor rainforest experience. Designed to replicate a full tropical ecosystem, it is home to over 3,000 species of birds, animals, insects, and reptiles, making it one of Dubai’s most immersive and educational attractions for families, children, and nature enthusiasts.
Built as a completely self-sustaining indoor rainforest, The Green Planet blends entertainment with environmental awareness. Visitors can explore lush vegetation, walk through multi-level canopies, and get close to fascinating wildlife such as sloths, toucans, porcupines, reptiles, and freshwater species, all within a carefully controlled climate that mirrors real rainforest conditions.
Whether you're a tourist looking for a break from malls and skyscrapers or a Dubai resident seeking a refreshing nature escape, The Green Planet Dubai offers a memorable, family-friendly experience that highlights biodiversity, conservation, and the wonders of the natural world.
The Green Planet was opened in 2016 and designed to recreate a part of the Amazon rainforest in the Middle East. The architectural design of the building resembles that of a cube that contains an enormous glass dome, the house that holds one of the biggest man-made indoor trees in the world.
The bio-dome is separated into a few layers: the Canopy, Midstory, Forest Floor, and Flooded Rainforest, and each is a representation of a distinct ecosystem. The average temperature and humidity of the facility are 25-28 °C and 70%, respectively, which resembles the nature of rainforests. It is run by Meraas Holding, which also runs other major attractions such as City Walk, La Mer, and Bluewaters Island.
