Havelock Island

Popularly known to be a piece of Ritchie’s Archipelago, the ‘Havelock Island,’ is just the place you should be heading towards if this is your very first visit to the island. The ‘Havelock Island,’ is undoubtedly the best of all the islands and has been referred to by many as the ‘safe haven,’ of the island archipelago. The most acclaimed of all islands, travellers are seen from far and wide exploring and experiencing the scenic beauty of the island. Be it the extensive shorelines, blue-green shallows or even just the smaller gems on the island – a comprehensive tour of the island will leave you speechless. This is easily one of the best places for tourists to soak in the beauty of this paradise.

Location: Havelock Island is located at a distance of 41 km from Port Blair.

Jolly Buoy Island

Filled with dry tree trunks, long stretches of white sandy shorelines, contorted and much more the ‘Jolly Buoy Island,’ has drawn the attention of most local and international tourists for its submerged corals that are a true testament to the underwater life of the island. Tourists witness bright colours that offer the perfect contrast to the turquoise water in the region.

Tourists looking to head over to the island would have to travel about an hour or so from the well known Wandoor beach. Whether its snorkelling, scuba diving or any other water sport activity – you name it and you’ve got it right here on the island.

Location: Jolly Buoy Island is located at a distance of 30 kilometres southwest of Port Blair.

Neil Island

The ‘Neil Island,’ isn’t exactly the most popular or sought after island amongst the lot but has its own specific appeal and charm to it. Tourists who make their way to the island are taken aback by the surprisingly casual vibe the island has to offer. Another sight at the island would be the betrayed shorelines that form one of the most imperative and essential shorelines in the whole of the Andaman region. It was only after the 1960s, with the inhibition of the pilgrims that Neil Island saw the existence of the human race on the island.

Tourists can witness a wide stretch of paddy fields, tropical forests, lush green island, splendid marine life and so much more. So if you’re on the island, make sure to head over to the beach and have the time of your life.

Location: Neil Island is located at Ritchie’s Archipelago in the Andaman and Nicobar Island.

Ross Island

If you’re someone who’s looking for something out of the ordinary, then the ‘Ross Island,’ is the perfect and most suited destination for you. The island was once a managerial settlement for the Britishers and even today takes tourists back to the charm of the British way of life. It’s the nostalgia that surrounds the island that accounts for its beauty and charm. The island has been named in remembrance of the great ‘Sir Daniel Ross,’ a marine surveyor and thus has attracted a wide number of visitors from across the globe. 

Tourists can explore the historical ruins that lay on the island – Chief Commissioner’s House, Hospital, Bakery, Press,  Troop Barracks and so on. For all you wildlife enthusiasts, the island has a great variety of amazing wildlife that you’re sure to love. The island is also home to some endangered species of birds and deers and hence makes for an exceptional sight itself.

North Bay Island

For those of you looking for a summer special island, the ‘North Bay Island,’ is a definite must-see for you. The coral reefs and underwater sea life in this region is a stellar sight to view and take in. Tourists can appreciate the beauty of the island and soak in the majestic Northern Bay for themselves. If you’re travelling with family, this is one of the hidden islands that the kids are sure to love and take back loads of memories from, during the course of your journey.
