Countries for which Spain has Opened for Tourism

Spain has opened tourism for travellers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID 19 virus. 2 weeks of completion after vaccination by recognised vaccines by the Spanish government is regarded as fully vaccinated. Spain recognizes Comirnaty by Pfizer, Vaxzevria by AstraZeneca, Janssen by Johnsons & Johnsons, Vero Cell by Sinopharm, Sinovac by Sinovac Life Sciences and Covishield by Serum Institute of India. Therefore, visiting Spain from India after being vaccinated by Covaxin is not possible. Spain has added India to the list of countries whose fully vaccinated travellers are allowed to enter the country. However, “Any vaccine authorised for marketing by the European Union (European Medicines Agency, EMA) and WHO will be accepted. The complete vaccination schedule must be available for the vaccination certificate to be valid,” the Spain tourism news updates notified.

Spain COVID Restrictions from India

1. Travellers must have the vaccination certificate wherein the second dose of vaccination should have been completed before 14 days of arrival. Entry to Spain from India is allowed only for vaccinated travellers. 
2. Tourists will have to undergo medical screening upon arrival. A FCS health control form must be electronically completed before your arrival in Spain. Access the form through the Spain Travel Health website. The form has to be filled by all travellers irrespective of their age.
3. The lockdown in Spain is partially in effect until 30th August, 2021.
4. The internal transport is made available. However, there are restrictions imposed for the safety of the passengers. 
5. Local events are also partially allowed. Check the official website before planning your itinerary. 
6. The restaurants and bars are also operational but with restrictions. A table should have a maximum occupancy of 6 people only. Restaurants are open until 11 PM. 
7. Shopping hubs are fully opened without restrictions. 
8. Masks are mandatory in all social places – even indoors. Physical distance of 1.5 metres should be maintained.

Spain Entry Requirements from India

The following 2 documents are mandatory to visit Spain from India

1. Only fully vaccinated travellers are allowed to enter Spain. However, only travellers vaccinated with Covishield are allowed to enter the country. Any supporting documents to show that you are vaccinated with Covishield at least before 14 days of arrival. 
2. You will mandatorily need a Schengen Visa to enter Spain from India. But, pertaining to COVID situation in India, only the Delhi centre is processing applications at the moment. 

The Spain quarantine for tourists follows such that people having these two documents are exempted from following the Spain Quarantine Procedures.
