Seven miles from the tiny Oquossuc to the town of Rangeley, the magnificent Rangeley Lake in Franklin County is one of the Androscoggin River’s largest headwater lakes and one of six broad lakes in the county, which also includes several other smaller lakes and wetlands, rivers and streams. There are also several campsites, motorhome facilities, a playground and a barbecue area in the park. Sea landing zone has also been approved for seaplanes.
Moosehead Lake
The biggest lake on Maina, the Moosehead Dam, also appears to be the greatest mountain dam in the whole eastern part of the world. Ten miles long and occupies a region of 280 miles from the ocean. You can spot the headwaters of the Kennebec, Penobscot’s West Branch, Piscataquis, St-John ‘s Bay. The lake is quite close to that of the antler as you watch it in an eagle’s view. Sebec Lake
Visit the Sebec Lake situated on the central highlands of Piscataquis County, a few kilometres east to west, a few miles north of Dover-Foxcroft. The recreational boat launch sites at Sebec. The Greeley’s Landing is renowned for its trout, salmon and other game species. The most famous destination of the lake is Peaks-Kenny State Park on the southwest side. Boating, hunting, biking, camping and picnicking are part of the property, which is over 839 acres. There are numerous opportunities to have a fun time in a town, like a mile of lakefront, a sandy beach and several miles of nice hiking paths. Peaks-Kenny provides campsites at 56 places as well.
Sebago Lake
Lake Sebago is renowned for its beloved salmon and dam, brook and brown trout, smallmouth and broad bass, and northern mountain. Sebago dam is popular with anglers. Five public releases are taking place. Frye Island, a summer island with several coastal properties, is host to the bay. Due to its scenery and leisure sports, 12348 hectares of the lake become a popular tourist destination. Sailing, surfing, hiking and fishing are only two of the activities that are accessible on the island. Flagstaff Lake
Six boat launches, various camping areas and holiday cabins available all year at Lake Flagstaff. The Bigelow Preserve protects the entirety of Flagstaff Lake’s southern coast. Miles of hiking tracks, including a piece of the Appalachian Trail, cross the Bigelow Range five alpine summits, a small, trout, kayaking and canoeing lake, while six boat launch sites provide access to sailing, kayaks, and motorboats, with hundreds of sail- and trout-fishing campsites. No doubt, it is one of the most-visited lakes in Maine. The Long Falls Dam is located at the eastern end of the dam and enlarges and turns it into a reservoir when constructed.

The Bowl
Not a well-known lake to many but its a part of the must-visit lakes in Maine! The Bowl is a beautiful high altitude pool, ideal for a humid Maine day to swim. You can see it at the Beehive summit, but the lake is really easy to access. The road is well signposted with a drive of just 1.5 miles. That’s not fast, but it goes up slightly. On your arrival, you will find some of the purest water in the city and the opportunity to relax.
East Grand Lake
East Grand Lake is situated between Maine and New Brunswick’s Canadian region and is part of the Chiputneticook lake chain. The East Grand Lake is renowned for its excellent fishing due to its land-locked trout, its white and yellow sandstone, its lake treaty, a little bass and American eel. China Lake
Last but not the least, it is one of the best lakes in Maine. The lake has an unusual design, with cottages and homes all year-round. The China Lake is fitted with two boat launches, one on the north end of the lake and one on the west side.
