Our Post-COVID Honeymoon to the Maldives

We planned our honeymoon amidst the pandemic. There were several travel restrictions, quarantine rules and loads of safety protocols to follow, yet we planned it. We didn’t want to postpone it anymore when we got to know that the super romantic Maldives is open. It was our first International Holiday and we set on a journey to explore this scintillating country. Our Maldives Honeymoon was indeed the best decision that we made in 2020. So here is our experience of vacationing around this marvellous country.

The charming archipelago of Maldives was our dream holiday destination. Who would not like to spend their honeymoon in a luxurious resort in the Maldives? After being at home for months together now, we really wanted this holiday. Being one of the first countries to open its borders for tourism, I was curious to know what safety precautions were put into place.

After having a brief discussion with the travel experts at Pickyourtrail, I understood the travel requirements to the Maldives. We booked the Olhuveli Resorts & Spa and the team helped us by sending vouchers right in time. We were all set to fly but, oh wait…! Did I forget anything?

Getting Travel Ready – The new normal

The travel shopping during the pandemic was not the same. You begin with a Covid test. (And end it with that too!) According to the travel requirements to the Maldives, we had to carry a COVID negative certificate. Hence, we tested for COVID promptly and yes, we were declared all fit to travel. We filled in a couple of Health declaration forms at the airport and flew to the Maldives.

Our Luxury Resort – The Happy Haven

The resort followed all necessary protocols and there were very few tourists in the Island. Hence, if you want to enjoy the pristine Maldives, this is the right time to plan a vacation! We enjoyed roaming around the sea, taking endless selfies to share with our friends and family. Our Honeymoon to the Maldives is a memory that we will cherish for a lifetime.
