Time and Tide Museum

The Great Yarmouth story and history are narrated in the Museum of Time and Tide. You will hear about its once-popular herring industry and sense the scent of the smokehouse ‘s remains. The Museum was originally built in 1850 and expanded in 1880. Museum work ended in 1988. It is located inside the premises of the Greater Yarmouth Tower Fish Curing Works. Tower Fish Curing Works was purchased in 1998 to transform the place into a museum. The museum was designed by Norwich-based architects Purcell Miller Tritton.
