Cambodia has weather that can be described as warm and sunny throughout the year where temperatures rarely dip below 20C. While most tourists head to the country during the dry season, i.e, November to March, It's best to travel during the wet season, between May-October as it means lesser crowd, cheaper flight and hotel rates and a brief shower in the afternoon that shouldn't affect any of your plans.

Cambodia provides lot of fun local transportation options for travellers who want to get around the city other than by walk or on a rented bicycle. There are Remork-mottos that are similar to tuk-tuks but larger and are operated as low-tech busses in most cities, or cyclo, the local cycle rickshaw that are found in most urban cities and Outboards, sort of local bus or taxis that can carry about 6 people. Apart from several bus city routes in Phnom Phen, not many cities have public bus services that are popular.
While taxis are getting popular in Cambodia, is availability is still not up to the mark with only limited players in the market. If you have difficulty getting a cab, book one with your hotel or just Uber your way to your destination. For airport transfers you can choose from taxis, tuktuks and motos.
Recently in 2014, the government introduced public busses in Phnom Phen, fares of which are 5 times cheaper than that of other modes of transportation. There fares are economical and no passes have been introduced as of now.
Car rentals are a great way to get around Cambodia. While some cities re exceptionally calm and a plaesure to drive in, cities like Phnom Phen are loaded with traffic on most days. Alternatively you could also hire a motorcycle or a bicycle. Also remember, the main challenge about driving in Cambodia is complicated routes and lack of road signs, make sure you're not lost.
