About Chapel Bridge in Switzerland

Europe's oldest covered bridge was built in the year 1333 and in the 17th century, the pictorial panels with scenes of Swiss and Lucerne’s history were incorporated. Chapel Bridge was originally a part of the city's fortifications to connect the old part of town with the new part and also to serve as protection. There is a part of the bridge known as the “Water Tower” that does not hold water but stands on the water is 30 years older than the bridge and was used as a prison and archive.
