The Penang National Park in Malaysia was earlier known as Pantai Acheh Forest Reserve, later because of its splendid sunset views it was known as the ‘Bay of Glowing Amber’. The park was set up for the preservation and conservation of the flora and fauna. It is rich with more than 271 species of wildlife and 1,000 plant species. The park also aims at preventing the geological, ethnological, historical and archaeological aspects of the place.

Trekking at National Park

As the trekking starts, To reach the first stop the Monkey Beach paradise, walk for around an hour and a half. On your way, one can witness the giant lizard, mind-blowing butterflies, and crazy beaches. one can also visit the Muka Head Lighthouse and then Trek to Pantai Kerachut to enjoy the attractions there.

Meromictic Lake has two different layers of water. The bottom layer comprises warm salt water while the upper layer is made up of freshwater from rain and rivers. You can even enjoy a mud spa.

How To Reach National Park In Malaysia

Near the Teluk Bahang, the park is located which is at the north-east corner of Penang Island. The distance is approx. 30 kilometres between Georgetown and Penang National Park to reach. Between Penang International Airport and the park, it takes around 45 minutes.

Entry Ticket for National Park

To enter the Penang National park, there is no entrance fee. Since there is no fee, one has to get a permit or the entry pass to the park by contacting the entrance office. One has to inform the staff at the office and gain permission if one is interested in camping or the canopy walk, There’s no extra cost for camping in the jungles but you have to get your own tents and equipment.

The opening hours of Penang National Park is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and the office also remains open to fetch the permit for entry to the park. There’s no time boundary to exit the park.
