A huge rock, about 8km long in the midst of nowhere might not seem to be a fancy holiday spot for you, but we’re asking you to seriously consider it. Because Uluru is not just splendid, it is more than that.
With steep cuts and caving-in, Australia’s ‘Red Centre’ beautifully resembles a giant mound of sand. The Ayers rock is the most beautiful during sunset – sparkling with the beautiful crimson hue from the sun. It is said that the rock is abundant with metals, especially iron, and that it is the reason for that red glow. While rock climbing is permitted, do remember that locals consider Uluru as a sacred rock.
