Peak Season of Kaziranga National Park in Assam

Kaziranga National Park is open to visitors from November through April. During the remainder of the year, the park becomes inaccessible because it is flooded during monsoon with water from the Brahmaputra River. Because the park houses a large population of endangered Indian one-horned rhinoceros, you can be sure to see the rare animal at any time during these months during jeep and elephant safaris. However, over the spring season, the probability of sighting rhinoceroses increases. The daytime temperature soars and rhinos get hot and compelling to stay close to water bodies to quench their thirst. However, even during the winter months of November and December, the probability of sighting rhinos is good, as the animals like to spend time out in the open to bask in the sunlight due to a cold climate. All in all, it can be said that the best time for Rhino sighting visits to Kaziranga National Park is from March through April.
