A Guide To Apply Ireland Visa For Indians – Happy Travelling!

If you are looking to plan a trip to Ireland, you don’t have to worry about the Visa process and start planning your Ireland vacation! The Visa process is not really complicated so that you can have a hassle-free vacation! In case you’re looking for one of the welcoming, greenest, and just a wonderful country on earth, it’s none other than Ireland. The documents required for Ireland Visa include:

  • The applicant has to submit the Ireland visa application form along with summary Sheets. You should also explain why you want to visit Ireland.
  • A valid passport (minimum of 6 months validity). In case you have an old passport, you will have to submit the same.
  • Recent passport size photographs with a white background and matte finish is applicable. Don’t forget to write your name and sign behind the photographs.
  • To and fro flight ticket bookings.
  • A copy of your itinerary.
  • Proof of funds to take care of your expenses during your stay.
  • Income tax statements for the past 3 years.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • A cover letter from your place of work.
  • A copy of the last 6-months of your bank statement.
  • Valid Travel insurance that is eligible overseas.
  • Salary slips of the last 3 months of your place of work.
  • A letter of leave from your workplace.
  • A no-objection certificate from your husband if you are a solo traveller to Ireland.
  • Proof of retirement if you have retired, must be submitted
  • Bonafide certificate or ID proof if you are studying.
  • If self-employed, a business registration certificate is applicable

Types of Ireland Visa For Indians

1.Ireland Tourist Visa

  • If your goal is to visit Ireland to explore its culture and history then you eligible for Ireland Tourist visa.
  • A short-term language course can be done using this visa.
  • This is a Short stay ‘C’ visa.

Note: You cannot work in Ireland or use any public fund services of the Irish government if you take this type of visa.

2. Family / Friend Visit Visa

Apply for this visa if you wish to visit a friend or relative residing in Ireland. The same rules apply as in a Tourist visa.

  • The Short stay ‘C’ visa is the same.
  • The Ireland visa requirements for C type are the same as the tourist visa.
  • For an invitee, you need to submit the following documents to the Immigration Department:
  • The invitation letter that was sent to the applicant.
  • Proof of address of the invitee.
  • A copy of the passport and visa of the invitee.
  • A copy of the financial documents of the invitee.

Processing Time:

The processing time for an Ireland tourist visa and the Family / Friend visit visa will be around 2 working weeks.

Duration Of Stay:

The validity is up to 90 days as it is a short stay Visa.

Note: If you have never been outside of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal or Bangladesh and you are travelling as part of a group on a visit or tourist visa, and up to date police clearance certificate is compulsory along with your application. The passport number and photo of the applicant must be present in the Police Clearance Certificate.

3.Ireland Business Visa:

Ireland has always been the best place for people looking for business opportunities. The beautiful and environment will add a nice touch of pleasure to your business.

Additional Documents Required:

  • A cover letter from the workplace in India which includes the purpose of travel to Ireland as well as the profile of the company and the duration of stay in Ireland.
  • A letter of invitation from the workplace in Ireland with which you are to conduct your business.
  • Last 6 months bank statement copy is applicable.
  • A copy of last 3 months salary slips from your workplace.
  • A business registration certificate.

Ireland Business Visa Validity:

The validity is usually 90 Days for business purpose. Business meets can be conducted for a maximum of 14 days in a visit.

Processing Time:

A processing time of around 3 to 8 days is usually taken to process your business visa.

4.Work Permit Ireland / Employment Visa:

  • If you wish to work in Ireland, you will have to apply for a work permit.
  • Once you get your Employment permit from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, you can apply for an Employment Visa.
  • You can apply for this visa up to 3 months before your date of travel to Ireland.

Additional Documents Required:

The applicant’s work permits Ireland visa application form. It should also include:

  • The objective of your visit to Ireland.
  • Details of your family members residing in Ireland or Europe.
  • Duration of your stay in Ireland.
  • A declaration stating that you will leave the country as soon as your visa expires.
  • Proof you will leave the country as soon as the work permit expires.
  • If you were refused a visa to any country in the past, you should provide details of the same. Don’t forget to include an original letter of refusal.
  • A valid Employment Permit
  • An appointment letter from the company in Ireland that has appointed you.
  • A clearance certificate from the Police Department.
  • Details of financials.
  • A valid Medical / Travel insurance that is eligible overseas.

1.For a single-entry visa: 60 Euros (approximately 5000 INR)
2.For a multi-entry visa: 100 Euros (approximately 8300 INR)
3.For a transit visa: 25 Euros (approximately 2100 INR)
