Distance from Munnar to Thekkady

These stunning tourist attractions, Munnar and Thekkady, are 85 to 90 km away from each other. The distance is contingent upon the route you pick. Since the distance is 80 km only, you can reach Thekkady in about an hour or two by taking a road trip in one of the routes mentioned later.

The roads in this route are exceptionally limited and are broken in certain spots, particularly during rainstorms. Also, in this route, there will be a lot of trucks, autos and other vehicles coming the other way. In numerous spots, it gets hard for you to give way for the vehicles coming the other way.

The normal speed you can drive is up to 25 km per hour. The general time taken to drive from Munnar to Thekkady is around 3 hours. This route has a number of streets that are restricted in numerous spots and thus, regardless of whether you drive quickly or not, you will be unable to overtake the vehicle before you!

If it happens to be you, who is driving all the way to Thekkady, drive cautiously and moderately. Make way for all those vehicles that are sounding behind you just when it is safe to do as such. Be extra cautious in monsoon season especially when there’s a downpour or when there is a mist. When the visibility is poor because of haze, stop the vehicle in a sheltered site and wait until the view is clear.

Munnar – Devikkulam – Pooppaara – Udumbanchola – Thekkady

It is indeed true that Munnar to Thekkady is the most excellent and tourist detour in India. This picturesque and lovely course covers Munnar – Devikkulam – Pooppaara – Udumbanchola – Thekkady. This picturesque route is around 100 km and takes a minimum of 4 hours to reach Thekkady. However, this astonishing picturesque excellence along the route justifies the additional drive.
