What is the Nubra Valley?

Nubra Valley is a huge and wide region positioned about 150 km north of Leh, the capital of Ladakh district. Nubra River is also called Siachen Naala by locals as the Siachen Glacier melts into this river. Also, Nubra River forms so beautifully as it connects with the Shyok river. These two rivers separate the grand Ladakh and Karakoram mountain ranges. Thes two river forms to be one of the largest draining in the Karakoram and a major tributary to the Indus River. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 feet or 3048 metres above the sea level. The western region of the valley borders Baltistan in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
