Kolaba Fort

Surrounded by the Arabian Sea waters from all sides and situated in between the sea is the Kolaba fort. During the reign of Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra this fort was used as the chief naval station. The age of the famous Kolaba Fort is approximately 300 years old. 

Located in between the Arabian Sea this outlying military fortification is a spectacular sight. The fort is just 2 km from Alibaug beach. During the low tides, you can reach here by foot. But during high tides, a boat needs to be hired to reach the fort. Due to its historical importance, the Archaeological Survey Of India has recognised the Kolaba Fort as the nationally protected monument.

Alibaug Beach

Located in Raigad District in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India is the Alibaug beach. Alibaug aka Alibaug is a municipal council and a coastal town, it is the headquarters of the Raigad district.

Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre, the naval chief of King Shivaji’s Kingdom was the man who developed Alibaug in the 17th century. The beach was named after the Alibaug coast.
