New Zealand is a small yet widespread land with people being as friendly as you can see. The country has got multiple small cities that one should visit. One such city is Gisborne. Located in the North of Island of New Zealand is the city of Gisborne. A lovely little city that greets the sun first in the entire world. Stunning beaches, great food, tasty wines and strong background of the Maori heritage is what you can make out of the city. The city is also unofficially known as the ‘Chardonnay Capital of New Zealand’.

1. A Yummy Breakfast

Start your day with a scrumptious breakfast to keep you going strong for an entire day. Head to Peppers Beachfront cafe and bar, a cosy yet casual eatery joint just in front of the Midway Beach. Be sure to dine outside or get a table near the windows. The view from there is the best thing you can see early in the morning. With a limited menu and all-day dining, eat as much as you want.

2. Go for a trek

Like every other country, New Zealand has got its fair share of mountains to trek. Trek or hike up all the way to the summit of Titirangi. Titirangi is a hill that is linked with Maori’s Culture and heritage. It is also believed that the people of the Maori tribe lived in the hills over 100 years ago. Now, the hills of Titirangi is just a trekking hill providing people with a great sight of the ocean and the country. So start trekking to see yet another beautiful view and click some dashing pictures.

3. Lunch at Matawhero

Let’s just say that once you are done with your trekking, we are sure that you’ll be completely frained and exhausted. Head to Matawhero, the tastiest food joint with food filled with intense flavour. Located just 10 minutes away from the centre of the city of Gisborne, is Matawhero. A cosy vibe spreads around the restaurant as you walk in. Several exotic dishes and wines are part of the menu. The products used here are produced from special formulas and hence the special taste too!

4. Visit the Tairawhiti Museum

Like mentioned above, the city has a strong link to its heritage. Head to the Tairawhiti Museum to learn all about the town and Maori tribe. The museum has got nine galleries, telling different tales of the people.

5. Relax at the Beach
