In south Bali, Batu Jaran Hill is a huge cliff that offers unobstructed views of the surf smashing on the rocks below while being close to the most popular and beautiful temple in Bali, the Uluwatu Temple, or Pura Luhur. This is a must-add place to your Bali package.

The Uluwatu pagoda is visible in the distance, and you can even see some sea turtles swimming in the water. The majority of visitors to Bali don't appear to be aware of this exceptionally picturesque sunset location yet. Batu Jaran Hill is one of the most picturesque places to visit in Bali. If you have included Uluwatu in your Bali tour package, don’t miss Batu Jaran. Visiting this place is one of the best things to do in Bali.

What To Expect Batu Jaran Hill

This is a nice location for a picnic where you can enjoy the sunset while playing your guitar. Even a lighthouse that you can climb to get a better perspective exists.

It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to either of the two breathtaking cliffs overlooking Batu Jaran Hill. My wife tells me that the name translates to "Horse Rock Hill" in Bahasa, maybe due to the white cliff's resemblance to a horse's head.

Be extremely cautious when you're close to the edge of any cliff because there is no safety fencing in place and the granite is eroding. The descent is a 250-foot (75-meter) drop.

You can stay here for a few hours, and you can see a few monkeys and fishermen as well. Its location is still very little less-explored.

Please be respectful of the locals when you visit Batu Jaran Hill, as it is a well-liked location for them to hang out away from the busier locations like Karang Boma Cliff and Uluwatu Temple.

How To Reach Batu Jaran Hill

On Bali's southwest corner lies Batu Jaran Hill.

It takes an hour to drive there from Kuta, Canggu, and other well-known tourist destinations in south Bali, though if there is a lot of traffic it may take longer (especially after sunset when everyone is leaving).

Renting a scooter or getting a private car with a driver is the most effective way to get there (both of these can be booked online).

Only scooters may travel the entire distance to the lookout. You'll need to stop your car close to the entrance and walk for around five minutes to get to the cliff if you're arriving by car.

You can visit this best attraction in Bali any time during the day; however, the best time to visit Batu Jaran Hill is at sunset, which is between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Padang Padang Beach

One of the most popular surf spots in Bali, Padang Padang Beach, also known locally as Pantai Labuan Sait, is located about one-kilometer southwest of the Anantara Bali Uluwatu and is nestled on the Bukit Peninsula's northwestern coast. This beautiful beach in Bali has an exotic location; it is an absolutely magnificent 100-meter length of sand that is easily reachable by descending a flight of stairs and passing through a distinctive hollow rock entryway.

A curvy beach with pristine white sand and azure waters is ready to greet you. If you don't have your own board but would still like to try it, there are board rentals available here provided by the locals. The shore is perfect for family entertainment and leisure, and there are nearby food stands offering snacks and small meals.

Karong Boma Cliff

Karang Boma Cliff, a clifftop hangout with breathtaking natural beauty, is located on Bali's southernmost edge. This pristine cliff-side setting, which boasts stunning views of the Indian Ocean and Uluwatu Temple, is well-known for its gorgeous sunsets and lush vegetation. Travelers have been coming to this remote location for centuries to enjoy the peace and tranquility it provides.

Karang Boma Cliff's stunning setting is full of surprises just waiting to be found. This region offers something unique for everyone, from its rocky cliffs and stunning beaches to its undiscovered caves and rare fauna. This cliff is one of the best places to visit in Bali.

The Uluwatu Temple

Uluwatu Temple is referred to as Pura Luhur. Because of its wonderful setting, Uluwatu is the top tourist attraction in Bali. Ulu denotes the top or point, and water denotes a rock or stone. The majestic temple is perched about 70 meters above sea level on a cliff-top. One of Bali's six illustrious temples, it is regarded as one of the island's sacred pillars.

The temple, like the beautiful Tanah Lot Temple on Bali's beautiful island, is renowned for its spectacular sunsets. The inner chamber of the temple towers over the world-famous surf of the island and is placed on a sharp edge cliff. Enjoy the Kecak dance that is performed on this temple's open stage. The dance performance starts at six o'clock and ends just before dusk.

Batu Jaran Hill is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to explore the best of Bali. Located in the north of the island, this hill is known for its amazing views of the surrounding landscape and its unique culture. Interested in visiting the hill?
