Take the leap of faith this 2024 with these bucket list adventures!

Forget the years, forget distinctions. Leap into the boundless and make it your home.

Zhuangzi

The most special thing about a leap year is that it’s rare. Like life itself. And what can it signify, other than the rarest of leaps we take that go on to change our entire path of life, for good? This 2024, take the leap out of your comfort zone. Take the leap of faith. Take the leap of living.

And here’s us nudging you towards the first step — Take the cue from your favourite fictional characters and take the leap of adventure!

1. Bungee jumping in Nevis River, New Zealand

The extreme adventure of Bungee jumping crept into our bucket list when we saw James Bond braving the skies in style in GoldenEye movie. But in real life? Stifling fear, lots of doubts and even more screaming are what it take to plunge into the dramatic valley of Nevis. Wait for the point when you realise you’re flying, not falling, and the brief moment of liberation will set you free once and for all.

2. Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is a haven of goodness for those who are not into nervewracking adventures, and those who choose tranquillity over turbulence (and those who are religious fanatics of how Harry Potter scuba-dives his way into pursuing the Goblet). The most peace in the world is found in the deep abysses of an ocean and the Great Barrier Reef vouches for it — seek it by scuba-diving into the world’s largest coral reef.

3. Skydiving over the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

It’s challenging sure, but what else can get you such a view? Free-falling upside down over the sprawling Arabian desert at the Palm Jumeirah is an adventure that you should definitely try if you are into adventures that make you go weak in the knees just by thinking about them.

4. White water rafting at Ayung River, Bali

Little did we know that Indiana Jones being badass with the ferocious water currents in the movie of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom would give us major adventure goals. And Ayung river, the longest river in Bali, pushes all the limits in water adventures altogether! The fear lasts only until you feel the first splash of water on your face — the high and low that follow will be nothing like you have ever experienced before.

5. Shark cage diving in Gansbaai, South Africa

For the lovers of “otherworldly experiences”, we do have something that comes close. The sharp-toothed pals that made us run and hide under our blankets in our childhood can be encountered up close in the Shark cage diving adventure in the very own adventure capital of the world, South Africa. Be prepared to go speechless only to turn into a storyteller later.

I’m ready for a face-off with the sharks!
