Ministry Eases Covid Rules For Air Travel, Check out the Details!

Covid Rules For Air Travel – The Ministry of Civil Aviation has relaxed COVID-19-related regulations and international flights are scheduled to begin operations again from March 27. The relaxation of covid rules are been given to facilitate a good downfall in cases that can be noticed, “smooth conduct of air operations”, the ministry’s order, dated March 21. 

It is stated that –

  • Cabin crew members do not need to wear a PPE kit anymore,
  • There is no need of keeping three seats vacant on international flights for medical emergencies in any airlines anymore, and
  • Security staff at airports can resume pat-down searches of passengers.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), said about easing these restrictions and added

“However, maintenance of hand hygiene/sanitiser and using of face mask continues to be obligatory,”

“Airlines may carry a few additional PPE protective gears, sanitiser and N-95 masks, to handle any respiratory infections related to cases on air, for passengers as well as the crew,” the MoCA noted, according to the TheNewsMinute.

After the outbreak of Omicron, the aviation market in India is currently recovering. Approximately 76.96 lakh of domestic passengers travelled by air in February, which is 20% more than in January.
