2. Visit the World’s most beautiful lakes – Lake Morskie Oko

Lake Morskie Oko is also known as the Eye of the Sea. It is located at an altitude of 1395 m above sea level. You can reach the lake on foot, following an 8 km trail. It is a two-hour trail leading to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Start the trail at about 7 or 8 am to avoid crowds. The Morskie Oko lake is also the largest in the Tatras which is about 862 meters in length.

3. Try the smoked cheese

Oscypek is a delicious smoked sheep’s milk cheese. It is the local staple and you will find it all around Poland. Do you know that this cheese can be made only between late April and early October? It comes out in three shapes – oval, barrel and the traditional spindle. This recipe of this world-famous cheese dates back to the 14th century. When in Zakopane, Say Cheese and Eat Cheese!

4. Taste a glass of mulled wine

A glass of mulled wine is a must when you are in Zakopane. Mulled Wine is also known as spiced wine. It is made with red wine along with raisins and mulling spices. Interesting, Isn’t it? Zakopane has a unique style of architecture. You can spot beautiful wooden houses everywhere in the ancient town. Stanislaw Witkiewicz is the creator of this style of architecture.
