The pandemic has left most U.S citizens to rethink the way they travel and explore. From refreshing road trips and camping vacations to memorable backyard vacations, you might have discovered a fair share of the stunning natural landscapes in this country. However, if you’re still lingering for your annual international vacation, there are several countries around the world ready to accept you (and your negative coronavirus test results), though some specific restrictions will apply.

Popularly known as Tropical Paradise, this archipelago in the Indian Ocean is sure to dazzle you with its purity, tranquillity, and diversity. Declared a “safe destination” by the World Travel and Tourism Council, Maldives has some top-notch resorts offering varied water adventures including kayaking, canoeing, sea bobbing, jet-skiing, snorkeling, diving, etc.
Test Type – Effective from 3rd May 2021, all inbound travelers entering Maldives are obliged to produce a negative PCR test report of a sample taken within 96 hours prior to their departure to the Maldives.
Exceptions – Children below one year are exempted from submitting the PCR negative test result upon arrival. This is mandated for all other travelers (even if vaccinated). Also check Best time to visit Maldives.
Effective from 05th May 2021, international arrivals (Maldivian citizens or work visa holders) are required to undergo mandatory home quarantine for a period of 10 days. It is also mandatory to get registered for quarantine via https://haalubelun.hpa.gov.mv/ portal within 12 to 24 hours from the time of their arrival.
Any travelers who develop COVID-19 symptoms will be tested for COVID-19 and in the unfortunate event of the test result turning COVID positive, the traveler will be subject to isolation and quarantine as per the Health Protection Agency protocols (min of 14 days).

Test Type – All international arrivals are obliged to produce an RT-PCR test report of a sample taken within 72 hours prior to their departure to Greece.
Exceptions – Fully vaccinated individuals who are residents of the U.S will be exempted from taking a test if a valid vaccination certificate proof is shown at the immigration.
Producing a certificate of a positive PCR molecular test result, confirming that the traveler has recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, performed at least 2 months before arrival will also be an exemption. For more information click here.
Random health screening procedures and antigen tests will be conducted place at airports and ports. In case a traveler is found symptomatic or is tested covid positive, then he will be asked to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days.
Note: Travellers must fill in the Passenger Locator Form, one day prior to arrival in Greece (before 11:59 pm of the previous day)

Test Type – Travelers arriving from the U.S are obliged to produce an RT-PCR test report not older than 48 hours from the time of arrival in Croatia.
Exceptions – Any traveler with a certificate of vaccination whose final dose was more than 14 days prior to arrival or a traveler with a medical certificate confirming that he/she has recovered from COVID-19 at least 11 days but no more than 180 days before the arrival date.
There’s no mandatory quarantine, however, travelers will be asked to isolate or quarantine themselves in official government quarantine facilities if found symptomatic or if deemed necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Note: In order to facilitate the entry and stay of travelers in Croatia, the Croatian government requires travelers to fill a form a day prior to their arrival.

Test Type – All travelers arriving from the U.S aged 6 and above are obliged to produce an RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours from the time of arrival.
Exceptions – As of May 15, 2021, travelers arriving from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Israel, Japan, United Kingdom, Latvia, Luxembourg, Ukraine, and Estonia, need not produce a negative PCR test report upon arrival in Turkey.
U.S citizens will not be quarantined. However, travelers who have visited India or South Africa, or Brazil within the past 10 – 14 days are subject to quarantine, even though they produce a negative PCR test report.
Note: Effective from May 16, 2021, the Government of Turkey (GoT) has announced a gradual normalization period that starts from May 17th and ends on June 1st, in order to control or completely stop the spread of COVID-19, imposing a curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays and a full lockdown during weekends (starts at 9 p.m. on Fridays and end at 5 a.m. on Mondays).

Test Type – All travelers arriving from the United States are obliged to produce an RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours from the time of arrival in Italy.
Exemptions – There are no exceptions. Every travellers arriving in Italy should produce a negative PCR test report.
It is mandatory for travelers from the United States to quarantine or self-isolate themselves in their hotel or their home for a minimum of 10 days. RT PCR or antigen swab test will be conducted at the end of 10 days and travelers will be permitted to go around only if the results come negative.
Travelers commuting through COVID tested flights are exempted from self-isolation or quarantine.

Note: All travelers arriving in Italy are mandated to submit the self-declaration form prior to their arrival in Italy.
Also, note that a curfew remains in effect in Italy from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am (Until June 6). And from June 7, a curfew will be in effect from 12 midnight to 5:00 am (Until June 21, 2021)

Test Type – All international arrivals are required to produce a Negative PCR report taken within 3 days from the arrival time in the U.S.
Exceptions – You can also show a document of recovery from Covid (within 3 months from the flight arrival date). The document must show the specimen was collected within the 3 months before the flight. This document should be signed and approved by your healthcare provider or a public health official and should clearly state that you were cleared to travel.
CDC has suggested all international passengers get themselves tested 3-5 days post-travel and also to quarantine themselves for a minimum of 7 days after travel.
