1. St Johnā€™s Island:

Also known as Saint Johnā€™s, St.Johns Island is the largest of the southern islands in Singapore. 6.5 km to the south of the main island of Singapore, it is accessible by boat from the Marina South Pier. This Island is treated as an Oasis for the travelers who come here to connect with nature.

This was once a quarantine center for infectious diseases and then a Drug Rehabilitation Centre was transformed into a Getaway Island during 1975.

Getting There:
You can catch a ferry from the Marina South Pier or World Trade Centre to St.Johns Island.

2. Lazarus Island:

This is one of the islands that is situated in the south of Singaporeā€™s Main Island. This Island is an escapade from the normal routine beach life as this island is uninhabited. It is famous for its white shore sands where you can dip your toes in the clear turquoise water. It was earlier called Pulau Sakijang Pelepah. There was no reason as to why this islandā€™s name was changed into Lazarus Island. Pack your bags with sunscreen, adequate water, and some picnic foods as you will not be able to find any local shops there.

Getting There:
You can catch a ferry from the Marina South Pier to St.Johns Island.
(S$18 for an adult round-trip and S$12 for children). After which you can take a short walk through the paved bridge that connects St. Johns Island with Lazarus Island.

3. Coney Island:

Also known as Pulau Serangoon, Coney Island is located on the northeastern coast of Singapore. This Island is most famous for Jetskiing and camping. This is also home to the Coney Island Parks, which exhibits various kinds of habitats. A real fun fact is that during the first year of operation, Brahmin cows were often sighted. You might spot the long-tailed macaques, but feeding them might be the first bad idea you might have there. This Island is also known for its bird-watching.

How to get there: Walk 500 meters east along the Punggol Promenade Nature Walk From Punggol Point Park. This will get you to Coney Island.

4. Pulau Ubin:

Simply known Ubin, Pulau Ubin simply known Ubin, is situated to the west of Pulau Tekong. Legend has it that 3 animals from Singapore (Frog, Pig, and elephant) race to the Johor. If one loses this race they will be turned into stone. The elephant turned into Pulau Ubin and the frog turned into Pulau Sekudu, also called Frog Island. Pulau Ubin is the place to be if you love to connect with nature and have a walk on the wild side of it. The best way to explore the island is via cycle and bike.

It is a ten-minute bumboat ride from Changi Point Ferry Terminal

5. Kusu Island:

Kusu Island is one of the most beautiful islands of Singapore located 5.6 KM south to the main island of Singapore. ā€œKusuā€ means Tortoise Island or Turtle Island. Legend has it that a tortoise turned itself into an island to save two sailors who were from a wrecked ship. Claiming to this myth, this island is home to a turtle sanctuary.

If you feel like taking a challenge, you can take the 152 steps to the top of the village. There you will find the 3 Keramats (Malay Saints Holy Shrine). They are believed to grant you wealth, health and fertility.

6. Sistersā€™ Island:

Sistersā€™ Island is 2 southern islands, located in the south of the main city of Singapore. It can be reached from Marina South Pier. A narrow channel separating this Island is named after the various folklore of 2 sisters drowning at the sea. You can actually look for your story to believe in this island while you explore the islands on your own. This island is also home to many of Singaporeā€™s marine biodiversity. This spot is also famous for its camping, picnics, beaches and warm blue waters for snorkelling.
Pulau Subar Laut also known as Big sister is open for public viewing but Pulau Subar Darat also known as Small sister is not open to the public.
