1. Five Flowers Lake, China

A closer look into the multi-coloured lake and you will find it littered with ancient fallen tree trunks, which makes it more interesting.

The best time to visit Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve is during the summer which is in July. Frequent buses are available from the Xinnanmen and Chadianzi bus station in Chengdu. The price of the ticket during the peak season is ¥220 and during the off-season, it is ¥80.
2. Great Barrier Reef, Australia
Abundant with over 4,000 individual reef systems, 1,500 different varieties of fish and 4,000 different varieties of molluscs, the remarkable Great Barrier Reef which spans a breathtaking 2,300 Kms is marine diversity at its best.

To experience the best of Kawachi Fuji Garden visit it during the time of Spring (April to mid-May) when the garden will be in full bloom. To reach Kawachi Fuji Garden, take a train to JR Yahata Station and from there, either ride on a taxi or hop on the free shuttle that heads to Ajisai no yu. The garden is open from 9.30 am to 6 pm and the entry costs ¥1300 (Adult).

5. Lavender Fields of Valensole, France
Rolling with lovely purple and blue lavender fields, Valensole in France seems like a mystical place where all the magic in the world converge. If you are wondering, how these lavender fields bloom at their finest almost throughout the life, it is because the sun shines brighter on the Valensole for over 300 days in a year.

The ideal time to visit Lavender Fields of Valensole is either during the Summer or during the Spring. And each field is different from the other, so make sure you have a car to zip around the field and find the right one for you.

6. Red Beach, China
When you hear the term ‘beach’, you immediately think of silky soft sands and the soothing sound of the waves crashing on the shore. But Red Beach will prove you otherwise. Home to over 260 varieties of birds and 399 different varieties of wild animals, Red Beach is the biggest wetland and reed marsh of the world.

Covered in a particular type of seaweed – suaeda salsa which grows from April to May, Red Beach looks green throughout the year but come Autumn and the entire landscape turns vividly red. To reach Red Beach, take a bus from Panjin to Red beach reception centre. From there, ride on a golf cart till Red Beach. The entry costs RMB80, excluding the transport.
7. Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Bali
Incredibly popular among the tourists, Tegallalang Rice Terrace is one of the most photogenic locations in the world and needs no introduction. Layered one below the other, the beautifully spread rice terraces inviting with its lush greenery should be on every traveller’s bucket list.

If you are planning to visit Tegallalang Rice Terrace, try visiting it early in the morning or late afternoon, as afternoons are generally scorching. And make sure to carry short bills with you when you go because the locals ask for donations along the way. The entry fee to Tegallalang Rice Terrace is priced at IDR 10.000 (pax).

8. The Wave, Arizona
Swirling like a wave, the undulating sandstone formation of ‘The Wave’ is one of the visually surreal places to visit in the world. Stretching along the northern Utah/Arizona border, the spectrum of the colours and the wilderness of ‘The Wave’ is easy to fall in love with.
Given the fragile nature of the attraction, entry to The Wave is limited and will be decided by a daily lottery system which dispenses only 10 next-day permits. Additionally, there are also ten online permits available for each date when booked four months in advance.
9. Tulip Fields of Holland, Netherlands
Overflowing with colour and fragrance, the mesmerizing field of flowers in Holland will easily lift up the spirits of even the dullest of travellers. From red to purple to pink to yellow to orange, the range of colours on offer is too vast that you will actually need a notebook to write everything down. 10. Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park, China
