New Aviation Advisory: What Does It Mean for Your Travel Plans?

As we are already aware, the COVID 19 pandemic has put a full stop to all the travel plans and choked the help desks of all travel partners at a global scale.

We at Pickyourtrail are working non-stop to ensure all the queries of our customers are addressed proactively. Our current effort is focussed on all the April departures and we will surely get back to your queries for May departure once the immediate issues are addressed.

What does the latest airlines update mean for cancellations and refunds?

On 16th April 2020, the Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a travel advisory stating that travellers are eligible for a full refund in the following case:

For both domestic and international tickets booked during the first lockdown period (25th March – 14th April) for travel during the same period or during the second lockdown period (15th April – 3rd May).

Travellers who qualify for this are waived of cancellation charges and the refund will be processed within 3 weeks from the date of cancellation request.

Who is not eligible for the refund?

The advisory, therefore, applies only to the specified booking window and not for bookings made before 25th March i.e., before the lockdown period.

At present, our hands are tied to address special refund requests that deviate from the aviation policy on account of an extremely high volume of cancellations. But we can assure you that we will get right on it, once the April departure requests are coped with.

We are closely following the airline policies so as to initiate your refund at the most optimal time possible. Kindly be patient till then and bank on us to proactively reach out to you 15 days before your departure dates to get closure on the same.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
