Central Europe Honeymoon: A Memorable Journey for Two

Post-wedding, the next plan obviously will be the honeymoon trip which now has become like a mandatory ritual. Here are this wonderful couple Nidhi Saraswat and Ravi Rai who shares about how they planned and the experience on a honeymoon trip to Central Europe.

About the planning for a honeymoon trip to Central Europe

Soon after our wedding was over, we thought its time for a honeymoon vacation somewhere magical. I and my husband had too many options in mind. With all the changing destinations, one place that we constantly thought about is Central Europe. Since it was a honeymoon vacation, we did not want to take much stress handling it so we thought about handing it over to a travel planner. We reached to travel triangle who suggested us Pickyourtrail. I got connected to the team and everything fell in place.

At the centre of Europe

After complete planning of almost 6 months, we planned an 8 nights vacation to cities like Prague, Salzburg and Budapest. We started our journey Nov 27 and flew to Prague via Doha. We knew for sure that we would have a thrilling experience in Europe. Little did we know that it would start from Doha itself. Yes! When we reached the airport, we got to know that our flight was cancelled and there was only an option to fly the next day. The team helped us with changing the transfer to hotel timings, informing the hotel on late arrival and checking with the tour operator for refund. Unfortunately due to the long flight, we had to skip the activity that was booked at Prague in the morning we reached.

Days at Prague

Since we reached a day later and couldn’t take the activity planned, we had leisure on day 1. The next day, we had our Prague sightseeing cruise which was really beautiful. It was for a duration of 4 hours and came back by the evening.

Days at Salzburg

As one knows, in Europe most of the inter-city transfers are by train. We had a train booked to Salzburg, the next city on our itinerary. As soon as we reached the train station, we took a cab, reached the hotel and had the entire day chilling. Since we hadn’t planned any activities for the next day, we had a leisure day, just visiting nearby cafes and restaurants. We visited Hallstatt and clicked some good pictures. On our last day at Salzburg, we had Bavarian Mountains activity, our only activity at Salzburg. It was beautiful and had some picturesque views from the Bavarian alps to leave you fascinated.

Days at Budapest

We reached Budapest by train. The vibe that we got when setting our foot on a fun-loving city Budapest isn’t something that every city can give you. We had the Budapest card to explore the city and be a Budapestian for a couple of days. The second day at Budapest we self explored Gellert Hill. Are you waiting to hear about the most famous thing to do in Budapest? Yes! It was the Danube river cruise and it was breathtakingly beautiful to see Budapest lit up with lights. We flew back the next day to our home.
