About planning the trip

I and my husband were planning our honeymoon trip. We had different choices and the one destination we both ended up choosing, at last, is South Africa. We started planning two months prior and there comes, the next most important part in the planning.

When we were all set with the destination, the next thing that we had to look for was the trip planner. With so many travel industries, we weren’t too sure how to choose one. Then I remembered my friend who went on a vacation with Pickyourtrail to New Zealand and she suggested it to me. Moreover, have heard about and have experienced are something different. A day at Johannesburg

We kick-started off our vacation on 20th Feb 2020 for 8 nights. We had our flight from Bombay to Johannesburg. When we arrived at the airport, it was so thrilling as the journey has begun. We went to the pickup location to take the car booked for us. As we started to the hotel, I realised planning to self-drive was the best decision that we have taken as there are so many places to explore along the way.

Two days at Hoedspruit

We drive to the second city that was on our itinerary which is Hoedspruit. And, We had leisure day when we reached. The next was the game at your lodge activity which was completely arranged by the hotel itself. I must tell you that it was an interesting experience to see wild animals that everyone should try.

Two days at Knysna

Having spent two days at Hoedspruit, we flew to Knysna. We started off picking up our car and left to the hotel. The first day was at leisure and the next day, we had Bunjee jumping activity booked. It was as thrilling as expected and we had some real adrenaline rush there. In the evening, we had a self-exploration activity of Memorable John Benn sunset cruise.

Four days at Cape Town

We drove to Cape Town the next day, the last city that was on our itinerary. The Day 1 was at leisure followed by the Exhilarating sky diving the next day. On day 3, we had our Cape Peninsula tour where we witnessed some really beautiful scenic landscapes. Only one hiccup that we had was our shark cage activity getting cancelled due to bad weather. We hope that we would do that somewhere else or may revisit South Africa.

With such beautiful memories that one could get once in a lifetime, we flew back to India with our souls smiling.
