1. La Sagrada Familia Church

La Sagrada Familia tops the list with the topmost visited historical site in Barcelona and is also the symbol of the city. The church is undoubtedly Gaudi’s masterpiece. Ironically, this monument is still not completed, in spite of having been in construction since 1882. The eye-catching complex designs, heavily ornate exterior walls, the play of light and shadow on the wall reliefs, and the magnitude of the construction are enough to overwhelm every human. 2. Park Guell

It is a perfect fusion of nature with architecture. Park Guell is another monumental blessing from Gaudi. It is Barcelona’s most famous city park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site which attracts thousands of tourists every year. The Park is built between 1900 and 1914 by the personal order of the famous Catalan businessman Eusebio Güell. The park doesn’t follow any structured pattern, it goes with a flow of Gaudi’s style. The park is filled with colors and thousand of detailing. Park Guell is a fairyland that never fails to mesmerize you. 

3. The cathedral of Barcelona

The church was built between the 13th and 15th centuries & marks the center of the Gothic Quarter. The grand towers of the cathedral give some panoramic views over the city. It is one of the most beautiful gothic churches to be found.  It is worthwhile to have a look at the church at night when the facade is atmospherically illuminated. Inside the building, you will find a beautiful building and a magnificent cloister. This gothic historical site never fails to be on the top list.

4. Passeig de Gracia

Passeig de Gracia is a shopping street in Barcelona. The street is about a mile long and is covered with expensive shops and restaurants. You can also find the modernist buildings in this place and some of those famous buildings are- La Casa Fuster, La Casa Ametller, and La Pedrera. You can always have a beautiful dining experience here as the food is delicious but the price may be a little high.

5. Columbus Monument

At the end of the famous Rambla street, you will recognize the Colombus Monument.  It is a 60 m (197 ft) tall and a thin monument to Christopher Columbus which was built in 1888. Inside is an elevator that goes up to its dome from where there is a fantastic viewpoint where you can also take some amazing photographs. 

 6. National Palace MNAC

Heading towards the mountain of Montjuic you will find the National Palace of Barcelona, built between 1926 and 1929 for the second EXPO in Barcelona. The highlight of the National Palace is its large central dome which is inspired by the Vatican. Inside you will be able to view different art exhibitions such as paintings or sculptures of Catalan art. The Magical Fountain in front of the National Palace is one of the major attraction loved by the people.
