Also known as Chandra Drona Parvatha, Datta Peeta has many high mountains. This is a popular tourist destination in the Baba Budan Giri area. The mountain is named after Baba Budan, the Muslim saint. The Baba Budangiri range is very prominent in the places to be seen in Chikmagalur. It’s a picturesque destination with beautiful sightseeing attractions. Mullayanagiri is the highest peak in the region. This place rises to a height of about 1,900 metres.

There is three cave here. There are three Siddhas buried here. Siddhas is a religious oracle. An annual ceremony will be held in these caves. Bhadra Dam

A major landmark in Chikmagalur, Karnataka is the Bhadra Dam constructed on the Bhadra River, a tributary of the famous Tungabhadra River. The dam became more powerful after people in the region began using water for irrigation purposes as well as producing electricity to nearby towns and villages. In 1965, the dam was commissioned. The river originates at Samse in the mighty Western Ghats and then begins to flow eastward across the Deccan Plateau and is one of the finest spots to be seen in Chikmagalur.

The main tributaries are the Somavahini, the Thadabehalla and the Odirayanahalla. Bhadra flows from Bhadravathi City and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. Then it meets the Tunga at the Koodli River, and the combined river flows to the east as Tungabhadra. The Bhadra Dam built on the river is 1.5 kilometres from the village of Lakkavalli and 50 kilometres upstream from the confluence of the Bhadra and Tungabhadra Rivers.
