Group B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran

1. Spain

The Spanish giants conquered their place in the 2018 world cup by winning against the four-time cup holders Italy in the qualifiers. There is no doubt on, how the world cup victory will be more of a sweet farewell to their all-time midfield star Andrés Iniesta. Their dynamic defenders – Gerard Piqué, Sergio Ramos and Sergio Busquets will be of prime importance. The quality of the game from Isco and Marco Asensio is also to be watched out for.

With the Juventus central defender Medhi Benatia leading the team, Morocco is one of the dark horses in this tournament.

3. Portugal

With the enriching talents of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma, Portugal won 9 out of their 10 matches in the qualifiers. Holding the pride for winning the Euro 2016, Fernando Santos’s team is sure to frustrate opponents with their durability and gameplay.

4. Iran

Playing nothing but brilliantly, the national team managed by ex-Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz is a threat to the other teams. Having played 10 matches, scoring 10 goals and not conceding any in the qualifiers – Iran has an exciting squad. The Iranian Messi – Sardar Azmoun is the player to be watched out for. Alireza Jahanbakhsh’s field presence is also to be noted given his amazing gameplay for AZ Alkmaar.
