The roads in this route are exceptionally limited and are broken in certain spots, particularly during rainstorms. Also, in this route, there will be a lot of trucks, autos and other vehicles coming the other way. In numerous spots, it gets hard for you to give way for the vehicles coming the other way.

The normal speed you can drive is up to 25 km per hour. The general time taken to drive from Munnar to Thekkady is around 3 hours. This route has a number of streets that are restricted in numerous spots and thus, regardless of whether you drive quickly or not, you will be unable to overtake the vehicle before you!
