The project named ‘Marsa Al Arab’ is worth 1.7 billion Euros and is aimed to attract millions of more tourists for the much-awaited, Dubai 2020 Expo. The islands are set to be built over 4 million square foot of area and each having its own unique features. One island is dedicated solely to entertainment and family tourism and the other is all about luxury with private a marina and luxury villas.

‘Marsa Al Arab’ is going to be a mixture of hotels, waterfront apartments,140 villas, private marina, a water theme park and a theatre to host the infamous Cirque du Soleil with a capacity of holding 1700 people. No Dubai property is complete without an outlet for retail therapy hence a 20,000 square metre shopping centre is also set to be open with an array of restaurants, cafes and bars. The design is also going to add 2.2 kilometres of beach to Dubai’s list of manmade beaches.

Highlights of the project:

  1. The adventure lovers should be thrilled to know that the popular Wild Wadi water park is set to double in size and also locate closer to the beach. Of course, new thrilling rides are going to be accommodated into the park.
  2. A marine park is also going to open up exhibiting exotic marine creatures and a 1000 person capacity seating arena for live shows to educate visitors about marine biology. They can feed the fishes and interact with exotic aquatic life at this park. Combined with the new and improved Wild Wadi park, both parks together cover 2.5 million square feet. A new museum is also part of the plan showcasing rare ancient pearls from worldwide, including a pearl farm and pearl themed hotel.
  3. Sailing is going to be the new hobby that Dubai wants to encourage with a new private marina and a private yacht club.
  4. To keep up the fitness trend, there will also be jogging tracks, a large swimming pool and cycling paths all around the islands.
  5. Adding to the number of villas and hotels, Dubai would like to convert this area into a beach resort favourite.

This isn’t the first time Dubai has dabbled into creating manmade islands. It successfully created several islands, the most famous being Palm Jumeirah, a series of islands created to form the shape of a palm tree and the island on which the sailing ship-shaped Burj Al Arab Jumeriah stands on today.
The project is set to be completed by late 2020 and aims to attract 20 million tourists and boost Dubai tourism across the world and the travellers can not wait to see the new wonders that Dubai has created once again.
