If safety standards are top priority in your list, there are metrics and studies conducted regularly that attempt to assess and rank the Safest Cities in the world to Travel, and this is dependent on multiple factors.  The Safest Cities Index for 2019 by The Economist assures us that many of our popular cities to travel are among the safest as well.

The ranking was made taking into account 49 separate pointers that included personal security, digital security, infrastructure security, and health security.
