Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary

The Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most visited and famous wildlife sanctuaries in Mizoram. The tiger reserve is home to many wild animals and birds. Having been established in 1985, the wildlife sanctuary is famous for its wilderness, flora and fauna. One can find animals like Sloths, barking deers, wild boars, hoolock gibbons, Indian leopards etc. Whilst 4 Bengal tigers were spotted in 1994, as of 2019 none of the tigers was spotted. Langtang Wildlife Sanctuary

The Langtang Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most important sanctuaries in the Northeast. It is a protected sanctuary from the government of Mizoram. Located in the Chmaphi district of Mizoram, this sanctuary is surrounded by lush greenery, alpine forestation and also houses the second highest peak of Mizoram. The Wildlife sanctuary was made into a protected sanctuary in 1999 for the protection and conservation of rare species of wild birds. It is the home of the bird species such as the grey Sybian, dark rumped swift, white-naped yuhina, grey peacocks etc. This a wildlife sanctuary that has been recognized by the government of India for the conservation of wildlife and birds. Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary

The Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the wildlife sanctuaries that has been considered as protected by the government of India and the government of Mizoram. This sanctuary is one of the best places to visit and to experience wildlife from a close range. Home to some of the rare species of animals and birds, this is considered as one of the top wildlife sanctuaries in Mizoram. Some of the wild animals that are found in the sanctuary are the clouded leopard, Elephants, Indian Bison, Tigers, Leopards and Jungle cats. Pualreng Wildlife Sanctuary

The Pualreng Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Northern part of Mizoram and is 115 Km away from the state capital of Aizawl. It is one of the best places to visit in the Northeast and one of the most accessible wildlife sanctuaries as well. One should visit the Pualreng Wildlife Sanctuary for its natural habitation and watch the wildlife. The Sanctuary is also located on the highest peak of Mizoram that is at a height of 750m. The Pualreng Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a plethora of wildlife animals.

Some of the animals that can be found are the Slow lorries, the Hoolock Gibbons, common Langur, Himalayan black bear, leopard, barking deer, Sambar, The Rhesus Macaque, Binturong, Chinese Pangolin and lot more. Tawi Wildlife Sanctuary

The Tawi wildlife sanctuary in Mizoram is one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in Mizoram. This is also considered as the first wildlife sanctuary in Mizoram. It is located in the Northern part of Mizoram at a distance of 101 km from Aizawl, which is the state capital of Mizoram. This also makes it one of the most accessible wildlife sanctuaries in the state. This sanctuary is rich in natural vegetation and has a large population of animals which call it home. Some of the animals that can be found here are the Golden cat, Leopard cat, Jungle cat, Tiger, Leopard, Jackal, Yellow-throated marten, Hoolock gibbon, Himalayan black bear, Malayan sun bear, Common langur, Assamese macaque, Slow lorries etc.

The Thorangtlang Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the major wildlife sanctuaries in the state of Mizoram. Located in the district of Lunglei in Aizawl which is also the capital of Mizoram. This is one of the most famous sanctuaries for the wide variety of animals that one can find here.
