1. Chail Wildlife Sanctuary

Chail Wildlife Sanctuary is amongst the lesser-known wildlife sanctuaries in the country and is one of the best places to visit in Chail. Situated 63 kilometres from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, it is home to an opulent collection of flora and fauna. The sanctuary is a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers as it is home to a variety of fauna and flora. Some of the most popular animal species of the park includes European red deer, wild boar, goral, spotted deer, sambar, common langur, Himalayan black bear, flying squirrel, Indian porcupine, etc.

2. Palace Hotel

One of the finest Heritage Hotels and best places to visit in Chail is the Palace Hotel, Chail as it rose to fame with its sprawling landscape of around 75 acres of land. This stunning destination is set amidst abundant greenery and panoramic views of beautiful landscapes. It is an epitome of elegance and beauty. Facilities include an open-air cafe, Cafe Palace, Kings Dining, an all-purpose gift shop, Billiards room and a Badminton court.

3. Cricket Ground

One of the most historical places to visit in Chail is Chail Cricket Ground. The king used to be a cricket freak and loved to play here during his summer visits to Chail. Perched at a lofty elevation of around 2,444 meters, this cricket ground was constructed by levelling a huge hilltop. Currently, this pitch is under the Indian Army and located in the Cantonment region. Although civilians cannot access the ground, they can stroll around this area and marvel at the spectacular hill-top cricket ground.

4. Kali ka Tibba

Kali Ka Tibba in Chail is dedicated to the goddess Kali. This secluded destination is the perfect getaway to attain that peace and quiet away from the throngs of tourists. Trekking up to this serene location is a fun activity. Angling and horse riding is also very popular near Kali ka Tibba. Stunning views and beautiful scenery are breathtaking from Kali ka Tibba.

5. Shopping in Chail

Chail hardly has any shopping destinations and shopping in Chail is famous for picking up woollen garments or jams and jellies. Chail Bazaar is the most famous and probably the only one being where people can buy as there are rows and rows of small shops featuring woollen garments, artefacts, juices and jams. Tourists can buy mufflers, Himachali caps, scarves, sweaters, gloves, and Pashmina shawls. Chail is also famous for it’s pretty silver, stone-studded or metal jewellery.

6. Sidh Baba Ka Mandir

Sidh Baba Ka Mandir is a popular religious landmark and a revered religious site in Chail, dedicated to the Hindu saint named Sidh Baba. It is believed that Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, the former king of Patiala planned and commenced the construction of a palace at this spot. One day, Sidh Baba came in the king’s dreams and informed the king that this spot was where he used to meditate and was eventually cremated, apparently stressing on the fact that this hill is pious and can’t be used for residential purposes. Overcome by his dream, the king built Sidh Baba Ka Mandir to honour the saint.

7. Himalayan Nature Park

The Himalayan Nature Park, established in the year 1992, is one of the most famous places to visit in Chail. This wildlife park is home to around 140 species of rich fauna and flora. Some of the common wildlife species that can be easily spotted here include Snow Leopard, Sambar, Yak, Brown Bear, Barking Deer, and Himalayan Thar. Apart from witnessing the animals in the zoo, the visitors of Himalayan Nature Park can take up the horse riding activity in the park.

8. Gurudwara Sahib

Built by the Maharaj of Patiala, this holy place of worship emits a peaceful and serene vibe, surrounded by beautiful greenery. Due to the meagre Sikh population in the area and non-patronization by The Military School Chail, the condition of the Gurudwara has deteriorated over the years.

9. Sadhupul Lake

This beautiful lake is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway with a cool breeze and the sound of trickling water providing a very calm ambience. The Sadhupul Lake is famous for its restaurant on the lake where wooden tables and chairs are spaced across the water body.
