You can carry laptops on flights to the U.S.A now!

A month ago, the U.S government had brought into effect a ban on laptops and select electronic devices from being bought into the country. Around 9 airlines flying in from the Middle East were affected by this ban. The good news? The laptop ban has been lifted in the USA

Effective from now, three major airlines have been cleared to have their passengers carry electronic devices on their flights from the Middle East into the U.S. The flights are Etihad Airways, Emirates Airline and Turkish Airlines.

The airports in Egypt, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were those that were affected by this ban. Indians flying through these airports

Devices that are allowed now on these airlines include:

  1. Laptops
  2. Tablets
  3. E-Readers

The controversial ban had brought a lot of discussion on if this was a right move by the US Government. While we can’t debate this, we are happy for travellers!
