Ambrish’s Family Expedition – A Trip To The Maldives!

We are a family of three – Me, my wife, and my daughter who is one year old. We wanted to celebrate the arrival of my little princess into this world in a beautiful place. At the same time, we wanted our trip to be light and enjoyable. So the Maldives was undoubtedly the perfect destination to spend our holiday. When I did extensive research about my trip, I got to know about Pickyourtrail. The Maldives packages on the Pickyourtrail website grabbed my attention. One fine day, I got a call from them regarding the trip I was searching for. They listened to all my expectations promptly and crafted a beautiful itinerary for 5 days. Their travel consultants were so professional and friendly at the same time.

My family in the seashore

Finally, the day arrived. We started our journey from Delhi International airport. Our flight departed an hour late from Delhi which initially disappointed us. However, the Pickyourtrail experience when we were in the Maldives turned around the journey into a spectacular one!! An amazing, baby-friendly resort was recommended by the Pickyourtrail team. Amaya Kuda Rah was simply outstanding and the customer service was great. The staffs at the front desk were very helpful and easily approachable.

The Blistering Beach

The different shades of Blue, the smooth white sand, tall green trees here and there looked exactly like a painting. My little was jumping in joy on seeing the beach. She started building her own sandcastle in the thinly populated beach. It gave me so much pleasure and happiness watching my daughter exploring things in a new place.

Jet Skiing

The most interesting part of our trip was Jet skiing. It was fun!! I have done scuba in Thailand, Bali, and other places but I never got a chance to try Jet skiing in the open Ocean. Since it was my first time it was indeed a special moment for me. The speed and the hitting waves gave me an adrenaline rush.

Snorkelling

Followed by jet skiing, We enjoyed snorkelling with Baby Sharks. Amaya Kuda Rah has a lagoon around the island that is safe for Snorkelling. We witnessed all types and colours of fishes in the lagoon. The experience was simply eye-catchy as each species was different and beautiful than the previous. The best among them was bumping baby Sharks!

Seaplane Ride

How would I not mention the most fascinating seaplane ride? This was the first time I experienced such an activity and it did not disappoint me. We all would have experienced travelling below the blue skies in the aeroplane. But riding above the turquoise blue sea in a plane was such an amazing experience.

It was indeed a relaxing Maldives holiday for us. We were packed with our work schedules for some time and the Maldives vacation was a great cool off. The people and staff at the resort were very friendly. During our stay at the island, we also interacted with a few locals and got to know their stories and the Maldivian way of life. A hotel staff belonged to an island where only 50 people lived and he hasn’t been home in 5 years. When I asked him why he said: “what to do there sir, we can only catch fish and eat fish”. At that moment I realized that life could be this simple away from the hectic work & metro life. The Maldivian people were really very sweet & simple. We also interacted with staff from all over the world there. A few were from Bali and some from the middle east.

If Corona disappears, my next destination is a family holiday in Australia !! That’s the only part of the world that I want to go to and haven’t been yet. Looking forward to more beautiful and memorable trips with Pickyourtrail!
