Every cathedral has the altar to the east. But this cathedral has the altar to the west. This is because out of the 4 cathedrals, two were burnt down during the 18th century. The altar was oriented to the west and not to the east to integrate the walls of the surviving buildings. Hence, the significance of this makes it one of the admirable and unique points about this cathedral. Therefore, it is one of the most recommended places to visit.
