This building was originally built in 1670. This place was used as a storage for tin supplies by the Dutch colony. But the place currently does not look like it now as Malay people destroyed the building. However, this fort used to fire cannons. In 1743, people tried to rebuild this but later abandoned it. There are several versions of the history behind this but none of them sound pleasant. One popular picture spot at this place is the one where cannon points to the sea.

5. Hiking Pangkor Hill

If you love to go for outdoor activities, then you can go jungle hiking. One of the best treks around this island is Pangkor Hill. For trekkers, the thick and shady rainforest is an additional factor to the ambience. And, the top of the hill is not that far too. It only takes one or two hours to get there. You can start trekking from Bogak Beach. Its path will take you to a small Pinang River and continue to the east. There are path markers along the way so don’t worry about getting lost. 6. Explore Temples

The island has several mystic temples that you can explore. One of the most popular is the Foo Lin Kong Temple. There are two life-sized statues of fishermen which act as the guardians of this Taoist-style temple. As soon as you enter the large blue and red gate, you can see unique statues as well as characters. The main temple has such an amazing construction with statues of animals like dragon and lion. There are also 12 Chinese zodiac signs on the temple’s roof. Try to spot them all if you can. That will be very entertaining, especially when you do it with your family or friends.

7. Go Bird Watching

Do you love birds? Then try to wake up early in the morning in Nipah Beach. You will see a lot of hornbills hanging on the trees. They are everywhere around the island. You can offer them fruits served on some bowls just like the locals. You can also feed them too if you want to. Don’t miss out the sunset view chalet from 05.30 PM to 07.00 PM.
