Getting Out

From Male, there are frequent transportation modes available to the cities of Kuala Lumpur, Colombo and Seychelles. Some of the popular airline operators include, Srilankan Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Etihad Airways.

Public Transport

Male is an island small enough to be explored on foot, but there are public ferries and private busses available that connect a couple of major areas within the city and run between cities in Maldives. However there are no government serviced busses, trains or trams that run around the city owing to the small geographical area and island nature of Male. Remember that in Male, ferries don't run on fridays.

Taxi and Airport Transport

The Male International airport provides an array of transfer options that one can choose from depending on budget and convenience like, sea planes, ferries and speedboats that run from the airport to the city and various resorts. Male has also recently established a network of taxis that run at a flat rate of 107 INR with an additional 21 INR/Bag. There are also private online taxi providers in the Male taxi market space like Uber and Ola.

Transport & city passes

As Male does not have a proper public transport system, there are no transportation passes in the city.

Driving & Car rental

The city of Male can be explored conveniently on foot and cars are not required. Car rentals are non-existent in the city of Male and most of Maldives, hence it's best to make use of public ferries and get around the city by walk.
