Ko Pha Ngan Geography

Ko Pha Ngan is one of the beautiful islands of southern Thailand in Surat Thani Province. Mee the two sisters of Ko Pha-ngan, the larger Koh Samui to the south and the smaller Koh Tao to the north. It covers around 125 km2 and is part of the Samui archipelago, which also contains 60 other islands and islets. This area also has the well-known Ang Thong National Park, a popular boating destination in Thailand. Koh Phangan is popular because of its endlessly beautiful beaches in Thailand and the distinct dropout vibe that pervades nearly the entire island.

Ko Pha Ngan Weather

The weather of Koh Phangan is separated into three seasons: the wet season (September to November), the cool and dry season (December to March), and the hot season (April to June). The climate of Koh Phangan during the dry season is believed to be the best time for tourists to visit Koh Pha Ngan. This is also an excellent time to go walking and swimming around the island's many beautiful places.

History of Ko Pha Ngan

Koh Phangan was thought to have been first settled between 1,300 and 2,000 years ago, according to historical and archaeological evidence. Four Thai Kings have visited Koh Phangan, including the Great Rama V, who went there ten times and left his royal seal engraved on a rock at Thaan Sadet Waterfall. The current King Bhumibol then followed in his footsteps. Koh Phangan is not only a beautiful place but has also been a spiritual location for the Thai people. It is the 5th biggest island in Thailand. Before roughly 600 years ago, the island was uninhabited. Passing monks realized its tranquility and spiritual significance and resided in Wat Phu Khao Noi, which is located just outside of Thongsala.
