How to Reach Nusa Dua

Public Transport

Bemos are the way of public transportation within Nusa Dua, as buses operating within the city are a rarity. These mini-buses or bemos as they are locally referred to run on haphazard schedules and are always full with people. The fares in Bemo are relatively cheaper but if you are foreigner you might be tricked to pay extra than the nominal rates.

Taxi & Airport transfer

Nusa Dua is set at a distance of 13 Kms south of Ngurah Rai International Airport and it is just a 20-30 min car ride from the airport to the city centre. The prepaid taxi fare from Nugurah Rai International airport to the city centre costs between Rp 95,000 and Rp 110,000. The possibility of getting a bemo right from the airport is very scarce.

Transport & city passes

Nusa Dua isn't well connected by public transportation. So Nusa Dua does not have city passes to offer. One can hire private taxis to go around the city.

Driving & Car rental

To explore the city of Nusa Dua like a local, you have to either hire a car or a motorcycle. They can be hired right from the place where you are staying at and are the best ways to get around Nusa Dua at your own pace. Some of the rental companies you can make use of include Hertz and Avis. Additionally, to save you from the hassles of driving within Nusa Dua, you can hire a driver along with the car and they are also surprisingly low in cost.

Nusa Dua Survival Guide

Good to Know

Balinese people are very traditional and their culture is rooted deep in the history. They are known for their dramatic Balinese dances and their rich culture which is world popular is unique and interesting. Greetings in Bali generally involve saying Good Morning (Selamat Pagi) or Good Evening (Selamat Siang) in Indonesian along with a smile or a handshake. The locals in Bali dress conservatively and they refrain from showing affection in public. Balinese are more open and put their views straight-forward. Raising your voice in the public is considered rude.

Essentials

Like most of the European countries, Australia, and New Zealand, the standard voltage and frequency in Bali are 240 Volts and 50 Hertz. The power sockets in Bali are of type C and type F. Your appliances carrying plug D or M will not fit either socket C or F and you will need a power plug adapter to use during your trip in Bali. Since the operating voltage is just the same as in India, your appliances will work smoothly without any disturbance.
